(UWECBlugolds.com) - While the UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team was down 1-0 after one period, the Blugolds fought back to play UW-Superior in overtime but Eau Claire fell just short, coming away with the 3-2 loss at Hobbs Ice Center today. Midway through the first period, Superior’s Becca Kent scored on an assist from Allie Pullar but the Blugolds answered back with a goal at 4:52 in the second period. The Blugolds’ second goal came just 37 seconds into the third period. The goal again came from Johnson, this time unassisted. The game-winner came at 2:06 in overtime as Ashlee Olson broke away to score an unassisted goal. Superior held the advantage in shots with 30 to the Blugolds’ 21. The Blugolds drop to 5-5-1 overall and 3-4-1 in NCHA play. Superior improves to 8-2-2 on the year and 7-1-2 in the conference.
