Sun, May 19, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Shea Receives Academic All-District Honors By: Kevin Meinholz, Sports Information Director EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (UWECBlugolds.com) - UW-Eau Claire football player Ben Shea (Sr.-Manitowoc, Wis./Lincoln) has been named to this year's CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District Five College Division First Team. Shea, a linebacker, holds a 3.84 grade point average and will graduate next fall with a degree in criminal justice. Earlier this year he was named a semifinalist for The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) 2010 William V. Campbell Trophy. He is second on the team this season with 46 tackles (38 solo, eight assists) and has one fumble recovery. This is the second time in his career he was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District Five College Division First Team as he was also selected in 2008. He is now eligible to receive Academic All-American honors. |
