EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team returns to action Wednesday after nearly a month off, when the Blugolds host Hamline University (MN) at 7:05 p.m. at Hobbs Ice Arena.

Eau Claire has played just two games since November 21, a 4-1 loss to UW-Superior and a 4-1 victory over UW-River Falls on December 10 and 11. The Blugolds have an overall record of 4-3-1 this season and kick off three straight games against Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schools. The Blugolds will host St. Mary's on Friday and Bethel on Saturday, with both games at 7:05 p.m. at Hobbs Ice Arena.

Amanda Schultz (Jr.-Stevens Point/SPASH) leads Eau Claire with 10 points on the season and also has a team-best eight goals. Laura Suppes (So.-Falcon Heights, MN/Roseville) is second on the team with six points and three goals. She is tied for the team lead with Martina Korinek (So.-White Bear Lake, MN) and Karen Hebert (So.-Lakeville, MN/Holy Angels) with three assists.

The Pipers from Hamline come into Wednesday's game with a 2-6 record on the season and last saw action in a 4-3 overtime loss to Finlandia (MI) on December 18. Of Hamline's six losses, only two of them have been within six goals. The Pipers have yet to win a game on the road in three tries.

Emily Gross leads the Pipers with seven points and six goals while three other players are tied for second with four points. Mindy Lein, Emily Dusold and Marie Gross have all totaled four points on the season.

The Blugolds and Pipers will face off Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. at Hobbs Ice Arena.
