Wed, Jun 19, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Swift & Lattery Named To NGCA All-American Scholar Team By: Kevin Meinholz, Sports Information Director CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (UWECBlugolds.com) - UW-Eau Claire women's golfers Emily Swift (So.-Onalaska, Wis.) and Maggie Lattery (So.-Lake Nebagamon, Wis./Northwestern) have been named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team for Division III. Swift, an accounting and marketing major with a 3.68 GPA, was third on the team with an 82.5 average. She was part of the group that competed at nationals, where the Blugolds took third place. Swift finished the national tournament tied for 27th place out of 105 golfers. Lattery, a nursing major with a 3.59 GPA, competed in eight different tournaments during the season. She averaged 84.7 strokes and recorded her best finish at the Central College Spring Invitational after tying for fifth. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative grade point average is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 66% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year. |
