Sat, May 25, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Stalker Receives NFCA All-Region Honors By: Kevin Meinholz, Sports Information Director STARKVILLE, Miss. (UWECBlugolds.com) - UW-Eau Claire softball player Katie Stalker (Sr.-Madison, Wis./La Follette) was recently selected to the 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Region Great Lakes Team. Stalker, a shortstop, was named to the first team as an at-large selection. A total of 15 players from the region were selected to the first team. Stalker led Eau Claire this season with a .434 batting average (63-for-145), 39 runs and 113 assists. Her batting average ranked sixth best in the conference while her hit total is currently tied for second. She finished her career on top of the Blugolds' all-time stolen bases list with 75 (previous record was 67) after recording 33 stolen bases this year, one short of a school record, and was in the top five in a number of other career categories. Stalker also earned recognition this season on the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District 5 Second Team College Division and was named to the All-WIAC first team. |
