Frederick Leads Blugolds on Final Day of NCAA Championships

BEREA, Ohio (UWECBlugolds.com) - Brittany Frederick (So.-Green Bay, Wis./Preble) took second in the discus throw as the Blugolds closed the 2010 season at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Baldwin-Wallace College today.

Frederick picked up All-American honors with her distance of 47.56 meters (156 feet). Heading into the day she had the second best mark in the nation, which she achieved on May 8 at the WIAC Championship. UW-Oshkosh's Ellie Sitek won the title with a toss of 50.62 meters (166-1) the best distance in the Division III this year and a facility record.

Also competing today was Hannah Humbach (Sr.-Madison, Wis./Abundant Life) in the 5,000-meter run. She finished in 12th place with a time of 17:42.32.

Overall, the Blugold women took 12th place at nationals while the men finished tied for 24th.
