Women's Track & Field in Third at WIAC Championship By: Kevin Meinholz, Sports Information Director RIVER FALLS, Wis. (UWECBlugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire women's track and field team is in third place after day one of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Outdoor Championship at Ramer Field today. Eau Claire finished the day with 40 points while UW-La Crosse recorded 66.5 to lead the nine-team field. UW-Oshkosh is in second with 65.5 and UW-Stevens Point is in fourth with 30 points. The Blugolds had four finishes of third place or better in event finals today. In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Alyssa Sybilrud (So.-Savage, Minn./Burnsville) was second with a time of 10:53.17, an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time. Hayley Suckow (Sr.-Elk Mound, Wis.) tied for second place in the pole vault with a height of 3.41 meters (11-2.25). The 4x800-meter relay team took second place with a time of 9:31.78. Finishing third in the 10,000-meter run was Kacey Rindy (So.-Fennimore, Wis.). She finished with a time of 38:30.60. The WIAC Championship will conclude Saturday at Ramer Field. |
