(UWECBlugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire women's outdoor track and field team competed in three separate meets this weekend. Blugold athletes competed at the Drake Relays at Drake University (Iowa), the Hillsdale College Gina Relays and the St. Mary's Open. On Friday, at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, the 4x100-meter relay team of Jordanne Greenup (So.-Fridley, Minn.), Talisa Emberts (So.-Sussex, Wis./Sussex-Hamilton), Kim Miresse (So.-Waukesha, Wis./North) and Erin Schoenfelder (Fr.-Antioch, Ill./Antioch Community) placed fourth with a time of 49.31. The 4x400-meter relay team of Emberts, Corinna Saager (Jr.-Wausau, Wis./East), Hayley Suckow (Sr.-Elk Mound, Wis.) and Schoenfelder placed fifth with a time of 3:58.96. At the Gina Relays the Blugolds came away with three top ten finishers. In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Hannah Humbach (Sr.-Madison, Wis./Abundant Life) placed second with a time of 10:29.66, a school record. In the 10,000-meter run, Elly Prunty (Jr.-Antigo, Wis.) finished with a time of 36:19.70, good for fourth place. Maria Peloquin (Jr.-Prescott, Wis.) placed eighth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:16.33. At the St. Mary's Open, the Blugolds finished with four sectional champs and another four sectional runner-ups. On the track, in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Kelly Palmer (Jr.-Chanhassen, Minn./Chaska) placed first in her section with a time of 11:23.22. Taylor McMillan (Fr.-Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton ) finished first in her section of the 800-meter run with a time of 2:22.01. In the 200-meter dash, Abbey Berg (Fr.-River Falls, Wis.) finished first in her section with a time of 27.73, while Mariah Braastad (Fr.-Andover, Minn.) placed second in her section with a time of 28.17. Nicole Blahnik (Fr.-Antigo, Wis.) placed second in her section of the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:58.16. In the field, Julia Baranek (So.-Port Washington, Wis.) finished first in her section with a leap of 1.58 meters. Baranek placed second in her section of the triple jump, finishing with a jump of 10.67 meters. Brittany Frederick (So.-Green Bay, Wis./Preble) took second in her section of the shot put with a toss of 12.70 meters. The team is off until next Saturday when they compete in the Oshkosh Open. Events are set to begin at noon. |
