Mon, Mar 17, 2025 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Golf in First at Central College Invite By: Kevin Meinholz, Sports Information Director PELLA, Iowa (UWECBlugolds.com) - The second-ranked UW-Eau Claire women's golf team is currently in first place out of five teams after round one of the Central College Spring Invitational at Bos Landen Golf Club. The Blugolds' first team shot 328 (+40) for the day while a second group of Blugolds shot 348 and hold second place. Host Central College (Iowa) is in third with 383, Simpson College (Iowa) is in fourth with 390 and a second group from Central is in fifth with 415. Individually, seven Blugolds lead the tournament. Emily Swift (So.-Onalaska, Wis.) is holding the top spot with 80 strokes on the par-72 course while Katie Maurer (So.-Forest Lake, Minn./Convent of the Visitation) is in second place with 81. Catherine Wagner (Fr.-Austin, Minn.) currently has 83 and is in third. Lauren Gault (So.-Shorewood, Wis.) is currently tied for fourth place with teammate Maggie Lattery (So.-Lake Nebagamon, Wis./Northwestern), who is golfing for the Blugolds' second team. Both have 84 strokes while Sara Mattes (So.-La Crosse, Wis./Central) is in sixth with 86 strokes. The tournament will conclude tomorrow. |
