Fri, May 24, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Men's Tennis Falls in Final Spring Break Dual By: Kevin Meinholz, Sports Information Director ORLANDO, Fla. (UWECBlugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team wrapped up its spring break trip Thursday, falling 6-3 to the University of West Alabama. The Blugolds picked up two wins in doubles play in the No. 1 and No. 3 spots. Phil Loprinzi (Sr.-Rochester, Minn./Mayo) and Chris Kuna (So.-Edina, Minn.) recorded an 8-5 victory at No. 1 while Dirk Van Rybroek (So.-Madison, Wis./Edgewood) and Eric Wollum (Jr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) won at No. 3 by 8-5 as well. Kuna also played a close match at No. 1 singles and earned the win by retirement. He was credited with the win with scores of 4-6, 7-5, 3-2. Eau Claire dropped to 18-4 on the season while West Alabama improved to 15-6. The Blugolds will be back at home next Friday and Saturday. |
