Women's Track and Field Takes Fourth at Oshkosh Invite By: Kevin Meinholz, Sports Information Director OSHKOSH, Wis. (UWECBlugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire women's track and field team took fourth place out of eight teams today at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational. Winona State University (Minn.) won the event with 302 points while UW-Oshkosh finished in second with 199. UW-Stout recorded 71.5 points and the Blugolds had 62.5. Eau Claire had three finishes of second place or better on the day. Hannah Humbach (Sr.-Madison, Wis./Abundant Life) had the Blugolds' best finish as she won the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:47.63. Elly Prunty (Jr.-Antigo, Wis.) finished right behind her in second place with a time of 4:57.89. In the 100-meter hurdles, Liz Amici (Jr.-Whitewater, Wis.) recorded a second place finish in a time of 15.46. The Blugolds also had three fourth place finishes. Maria Peloquin (Jr.-Prescott, Wis.) took fourth in the 1,500-meter run, Taylor McMillan (Fr.-Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton ) was fourth in the 800-meter run and Chelsea Heil (So.-Whitewater, Wis.) was fourth in the long jump. Eau Claire will next compete on Saturday, April 10 at the UW-Platteville Open. |
