Wed, May 22, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Swimming & Diving Wraps up Season at NCAA Championship By: Kevin Meinholz, Sports Information Director MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (UWECBlugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire men's and women's swimming and diving teams wrapped up the 2010 season after four days of competition at the 2010 NCAA Division III Championship at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. Throughout the four-day championship, the Blugolds competed in 13 different events. Nick Badilla (Fr.-Appleton, Wis./North), the only member of the men's team that competed at the championship, came away with the Blugolds' highest finish. He took 12th out of 22 divers in the three-meter dive with a score of 417.50 on the first day of the meet. On Friday he finished 21st in the one-meter dive with a score of 364.15. The Blugold women's swimmers competed in three event finals while they competed in preliminaries in eight other events. The 800-yard freestyle relay team of Nicole Dorvinen (So.-Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port), Casey Preissel (Jr.-Wisconsin Dells, Wis.), Megan Finley (Jr.-Waunakee, Wis.) and Hannah Ramquist (Fr.-River Falls, Wis.) finished with a school record time of 7:43.02 to take 13th place. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Finley, Preissel, Ramquist and Julia Olson (So.-Faribault, Minn.) had a 16th place finish with a time of 1:37.29. Individually, Dorvinen took 14th out of 32 swimmers in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:29.88.
