Drake Earns WIAC Men's Basketball Player Of The Week Honors

MADISON - UW-Eau Claire outside player Casey Drake (Sr. -Rhinelander) was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced today by conference sports information director Matt Stanek.
Drake helped the Blugolds earn two conference victories during the week to remain one game behind first-place UW-Stevens Point in the league standings. He led all scorers with 23 points, while grabbing seven rebounds in a 64-54 victory over No. 14-ranked UW-Oshkosh handing the Titans their first loss to UW-Eau Claire since February 24, 2001. Drake shot eight-of-16 from the floor, including two-of-three from the three-point arc and five-of-seven from the free throw line. In a 69-55 victory at UW-La Crosse, he led all scorers with 20 points to go with a team-best seven rebounds and four assists. Drake was eight-of-15 from the field in the contest against the Eagles and two-of-two from the free-throw line.
