Mon, May 20, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Swimmers & Divers Fall To La Crosse Posted: Saturday, December 11, 2004 LA CROSSE - Both the UW-Eau Claire men's and women's swimming and diving teams each dropped dual meets to Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponent UW-La Crosse here today in La Crosse. The men dropped their dual meet to the Eagles by a score of 139-102. Scott Heatwole (Jr.-Port Washington) and Bryan Dykstra (Fr.-Racine Horlick) dominated the diving events, with Heatwole winning the 1-meter and taking second in the 3-meter and Dykstra winning the 3-meter and taking second in the 1-meter. Brian Jordan (Fr.-Madison/West) claimed the men's only other individual first place finish, winning the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:10.94. The men's 800-yard freestyle relay also earned a first place finish with a time of 7:34.26. The women lost by a score of 174-69 and earned just one first place finish. Annie Gorman (Jr.-Menomonie) won the 500-yard freestyle event with a time of 5:30.72. The time was more than five seconds better than the runner up. Gorman also claimed second place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:01.71. Cori Severson (Jr.-Brainerd, MN) claimed second place in the 50-yard freestyle event with a time of 25.05 seconds while Amanda Kroger (Fr.-Shoreview, MN/Mounds View) took second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:35.78. Gorman, Severson and Kroger were all part of the second place 800-yard freestyle relay team that finished in a time of 8:16.40. - DN - |
