Tue, Dec 3, 2024 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Faber Earns NCHA Recognition By: Kevin Meinholz, Sports Information Director MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (UWECBlugolds.com) - UW-Eau Claire women's hockey player Kristin Faber (Jr.-Austin, Minn.) has been selected as this week's Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) player of the week for her four-point weekend in a split with UW-Stevens Point, conference sports information director Brian Monahan announced today. Faber was involved in all four Blugold goals in a 4-2 victory last Friday night in Eau Claire. She assisted on a first period goal and two second period goals as UWEC built a 3-0 lead. But UW-Stevens Point came roaring back, cutting the lead to 3-2 after 40:00. Then, as the Pointers were pushing to gain the equalizer, Faber made it a two-goal cushion by burying her 19th of the season at 14:28 of the third. On the season, Faber is second in the NCHA in total points with 33 - two behind Lake Forest's Kim Herring. Her four-point game against UW-Stevens Point was the fourth time this season she has posted four points in a game and her ninth multi-point game of the year. |
