Sat, May 25, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Indoor Track & Field Competes in Pointer Invitational By: BJ Pickard, Sports Information Student STEVENS POINT, Wis. (UWECBlugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire women's indoor track and field team competed at the UW-Stevens Point Pointer Invitational today. The Blugolds had six second place finishes on the day. In the track events, Hannah Humbach (Sr.-Madison, Wis./Abundant Life) placed second in the 800-meter run with a school-record time of 2:15.98 while Beth Easker (Jr.-Wittenberg, Wis./Wittenberg-Birnamwood) was second in the 5000-meter run with a time of 18:13.88. In the field events, Julia Baranek (So.-Port Washington, Wis.) took second in the high jump with a jump of 1.62 meters (5-3.75) and Hayley Suckow (Sr.-Elk Mound, Wis.) took second in the pole vault with a vault of 3.55 meters (11-7.75). In the shot put, Brittany Frederick (So.-Green Bay, Wis./Preble) placed second with a throw of 12.77 meters (41-10.75). Frederick also placed second in the weight throw with a toss of 15.36 meters (50-4). In the pentathlon, Liz Amici (Jr.-Whitewater, Wis.) took third place overall with 2,742 points. The team next competes at UW-Platteville on Saturday February 13. Events are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. |
