Mesick Receives Academic All-District Recognition By: Kevin Meinholz, Sports Information Director EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (UWECBlugolds.com) - UW-Eau Claire women's basketball player Hannah Mesick (Jr.-Chatfield, Minn.) has been selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 5 College Division second team. Mesick holds a 3.87 cumulative GPA and majors in political science while minoring in coaching. She has been selected to UW-Eau Claire's Dean's List five times while also earning academic distinction honors five times. Mesick leads the Blugolds this season in scoring and rebounding, averaging nearly a double-double with 18 points and 8.5 rebounds through the first 20 games. Her 18 points per game ranks second in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while she is third in rebounding. Mesick is also shooting .561 from the floor, fourth best in the league, while she is eighth in free throw percentage (.750), 10th in blocked shots per game (0.68) and 11th in assists per game (2.58). |
