Tue, May 21, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Track and Field Dominates Eau Claire Triangular By: BJ Pickard, Sports Information Student EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (UWECBlugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire women's track and field team placed first out of three teams today at the UW-Eau Claire Triangular at the McPhee Physical Education Center. The Blugolds finished with 210 points on the day. UW-Stevens Point placed second with 134 and UW-Platteville took third with 111 points. The Blugolds had six first place finishes, with five coming in the field events. Julia Baranek (So.-Port Washington, Wis.) won the high jump with a leap of 1.51 meters (4-11.50) and the triple jump with a distance of 10.54 meters (34-7.00). Brittany Frederick (So.-Green Bay, Wis./Preble) won the weight throw with a toss of 15.56 meters (51-00.75) and the shot put with a throw of 12.17 meters (39-11.25). Hayley Suckow (Sr.-Elk Mound, Wis.) won the pole vault with a distance of 3.48 meters (11-5.00). On the track, Talisa Emberts (So.-Sussex, Wis./Sussex-Hamilton) came away with the victory in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:00.53. The Blugolds travel to Menomonie next Saturday for the Warren Bowlus Open. Action is set to get underway at noon. |
