(UWECBlugolds.com) - UW-Eau Claire women's soccer player Megan Hillesheim (Jr.-Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine) has earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-Central Region second team honors. Hillesheim is a nursing major with a 3.86 cumulative grade point average. She led the Blugolds with a first team All-North Region selection earlier this year and was the Blugolds' most valuable defender, while also being named to the All-WIAC Team this season. Hillesheim was part of a defense that held opponents to 169 shots and 28 goals while the Blugolds tallied 349 and 50, respectively. She also picked up four assists. To be nominated, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout her career; start more than 50 percent of all matches and be a significant contributor to the team; be nominated by an institution that is a current NSCAA College Services member; be a junior or above in academic standing at the current institution; be in her second year at the current school if she is a transfer student; and submit an official copy of a certified transcript. |
