Two Blugolds Receive WIAC Recognition

MADISON, Wis. (UWECBlugolds.com) - UW-Eau Claire men's basketball player Geoff Probst (Sr.-Moose Lake, Minn.) and women's swimmer Nicole Dorvinen (So.-Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port) have earned Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference player of the week honors, conference sports information director Matt Stanek announced today.
In an 83-71 victory over UW-Stout on Dec. 12, Probst had a game-high 24 points, while adding five rebounds. In a 74-68 win over UW-River Falls on Dec. 10, he contributed 13 points and a team-high six rebounds. His weekly totals included two steals, two blocked shots and one assist.
Dorvinen led the Blugolds with two first-place finishes as she took the top spot in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:52.72 and the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:18.07. Both were season-best times for her. The Blugolds came up just short to UW-La Crosse 123.5-118.5 on Dec. 12.
