Wed, Jun 19, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Men's Swimming & Diving Falls to UW-La Crosse By: Matt Troge, Sports Information Student EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (UWECBlugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire men's swimming and diving team was defeated by UW-La Crosse today at the McPhee Physical Education Center. The Blugolds notched 90 points total while La Crosse received 152 points. Eau Claire picked up three first place finishes on the day while having a number of swimmers finishing in the top three. The 800-yard freestyle relay team consisting of Chris Paradeise (Jr.-Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview), Brett Olsen (Sr.-New Berlin, Wis./West Allis Hale), Nick Mehring (Jr.-Eagan, Minn./Eastview) and Ben Macalalad (Jr.-Wausau, Wis./East) took first place with a final time of 7:28.69. On the diving side, Nick Badilla (Fr.-Appleton, Wis./North) got first place in the one-meter diving event with a score of 270.00 while also getting first in the three-meter event with a score of 298.95, a national qualifying mark. The Blugolds will take nearly a month off before heading to San Diego on January 11, 2010 to compete in the Coronado Island Pentathlon Meet. Events are slated to begin at 9 a.m. |
