Fri, May 24, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Swimming & Diving Defeats UW-River Falls By: Kevin Meinholz, Sports Information Director EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (UWECBlugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire women's swimming and diving team defeated UW-River Falls 151-81 today at the McPhee Physical Education Center. Eau Claire picked up nine first place finishes on the day. Megan Finley (Jr.-Waunakee, Wis.) took the top spot in two events, winning the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.49 and the 100-yard backstroke in 1:02.70. Ann Grossklaus (Sr.-Rib Mountain, Wis./Wausau West), Julia Olson (So.-Faribault, Minn.), Casey Preissel (Jr.-Wisconsin Dells, Wis.) and Nicole Dorvinen (So.-Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port) won the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 8:02.44, 13 seconds faster than the rest of the field. Jamie Olson (So.-Delafield, Wis./Kettle Moraine) won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.75. Amy Stewart (Jr.-South Milwaukee, Wis.) won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:06.80, Hannah Ramquist (Fr.-River Falls, Wis.) won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.15 and Kirsten Lickel (So.-Madison, Wis./East) had a time of 2:18.76 to win the 200-yard individual medley. In diving, Katrina Fitzgerald (Fr.-Farmington, Minn.) won the three-meter event with 194.05 points while also taking the top spot in the one-meter event with 193.30 points. The Blugolds will have next weekend off and will be back in action Dec. 4 and 5 for the Falcon Invite and St. Cloud Diving Meet. |
