Sat, May 18, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Three Blugolds Receive All-WIAC Soccer Recognition By: Kevin Meinholz, Sports Information Director MADISON, Wis. (UWECBlugolds.com) - Three UW-Eau Claire women's soccer players have been selected to this year's All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Team, conference sports information director Matt Stanek announced today. Earning recognition on this year's team are Shyla Gilbertson (Fr.-Waunakee, Wis.), Alli Kishaba (Sr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) and Megan Hillesheim (Jr.-Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine). This is the first time each has appeared on the All-WIAC team. Gilbertson led the Blugolds this season in goals and points scored. She finished with 10 goals and 23 points. Her 23 points ranked seventh in the conference while her 10 goals tied for fifth. She also had a team-high three game-winning goals. She started all 20 games for Eau Claire this year. Kishaba finished the season with eight points, coming from three goals and two assists. She started 19 games. Kishaba was also honored by being named to the WIAC's All-Sportsmanship Team, which honors individuals who displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. Hillesheim picked up four assists on the year and played in all 20 games, starting 19 of them. |
