(UWECBlugolds.com) - UW-Eau Claire women's swimmer Julia Olson (So.-Faribault, Minn.) has been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference athlete of the week, conference sports information director Matt Stanek announced today. Olson performed well against St. Cloud State (Minn.) and UW-Stevens Point on Oct. 31, taking first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.43 and first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.30. Her time in the 50-yard event was just two-tenths of a second away from a "B"-cut qualifying time for the national meet. She was part of a 400-yard freestyle relay team that took second with a time of 3:40.97 and added a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle. |
