Men's Swimming & Diving Falls to St. Cloud & Stevens Point

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (UWECBlugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire men's swimming and diving team competed in a double dual meet this weekend against St. Cloud State and UW-Stevens Point.
The Blugolds came up short 208-88 to St. Cloud and 215-84 against the Pointers.
Nick Mehring (Jr.-Eagan, Minn./Eastview) had the Blugolds' best finish of the meet as he won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:07.94. He also took third in the 200-yard freestyle.
Jonathan Poppele (So.-Maple Grove, Minn./Wayzata) also swam well for the Blugolds and took second place in the 200-yard individual medley. He finished with a time of 2:05.85.
While the swimmers competed Saturday, the divers competed Friday at the McPhee Physical Education Center in Eau Claire. Nick Badilla (Fr.-Appleton, Wis./North) came away with second place spots in both the one and three-meter dives.
The Blugolds will have next weekend off and will next compete November 14 at UW-Oshkosh.
