Women's Cross Country Places Third at Luther Invite

DECORAH, Iowa (UWECBlugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire women's cross country team placed third out of eight teams in today's Luther All-American 5K Invite at Luther College.
The team finished with 98 points and an average time of 20:04. UW-La Crosse won the event with 41 points.
Kelly Palmer (Sr.-Chanhassen, Minn.) led the Blugolds with a time of 19:52 as she took 12th overall.
Close behind Palmer were Maria Peloquin (Jr.-Prescott, Wis.) in 17th place with a time of 19:59, Kacey Rindy (So.-Fennimore, Wis.) in 20:03, taking 20th overall, and Teresa Coughlin (So.-Coon Rapids, Minn.) in 23rd place with a time of 20:09.
Rounding out the top five was Britta Nelson (So.-Rosemount, Minn.), who finished in 26th place with a time of 20:20.
The 10th-ranked Blugolds next compete at the University of Minnesota's Roy Griak Invite on Saturday, September 26th in St. Paul, Minn., where the Blugolds' varsity squad will make its first appearance this season.
