Fri, May 24, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Maurer Earns WIAC Athlete of the Week Honors By: Kevin Meinholz, Sports Information Director MADISON, Wis. - UW-Eau Claire women's golfer Katie Maurer (So.-Forest Lake, Minn./Convent of the Visitation) has earned Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference athlete of the week honors, conference spokesman Matt Stanek announced today. Maurer won individual medalist honors at the Doug Georgianni Memorial Blugold Invite held Sept. 5-6, to help the Blugolds to a second-place finish out of 21 teams. She completed the 36-hole tournament with 151 strokes, six above par, finishing two better than the second-place finisher. On day two of the tournament, Maurer tied for the top score with 74 strokes. |
