Kooistra Named CoSIDA Academic All-American Posted: Friday, June 19, 2009 EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - Liz Kooistra (Sr.-Lakeville, Minn.) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America Women's Track and Field/Cross Country First Team College Division, CoSIDA officials announced today. Kooistra, who won the 400-meter dash national title at the 2009 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship, wrapped up her collegiate career with a 3.49 cumulative grade point average. She majored in psychology while she minored in Spanish. Kooistra becomes only the second Blugold to earn recognition as a CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Women's Track and Field/Cross Country first team Academic All-American. Liz Faller was the first as she picked up honors last season. Only 15 individuals have ever been selected as first team Academic All-Americans in Blugold Athletics history. - KM - |
