Two Named CoSIDA Academic All-District Posted: Thursday, June 4, 2009 EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - Liz Kooistra (Sr.-Lakeville, Minn.) and Hannah Humbach (Jr.-Madison, Wis./Abundant Life) have been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District 5 Women's Track and Field/Cross Country College Division Teams, announced today. Kooistra led the Blugolds as a first team selection. This season she won a national title in the 400-meter dash at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship with a school-record time of 54.29. She completed the season earning All-American status three times in the indoor and outdoor track seasons. Kooistra, a psychology major with a 3.58 cumulative grade point average, is now eligible for Academic All-American recognition, which will be announced later this month. Humbach, a microbiology major with a 3.97 GPA, was named to the second team for the second straight season. She competed in both indoor and outdoor track and was also on the cross country team last fall. During the outdoor track season, Humbach took home All-American honors as she finished fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a school-record time. During the cross country season, she took 145th place as the Blugolds took fifth place overall at the national meet. - KM - |
