Wed, Jun 19, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Track And Field Gearing Up For Nationals Posted: Sunday, May 17, 2009 INDIANAPOLS, Ind. - The UW-Eau Claire women's track and field team will be well represented at this year's NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship, the NCAA announced today. In all, 12 Blugold women will be at nationals competing in 11 different events. Click here for a full qualifier list and schedule. Liz Kooistra (Sr.-Lakeville, Minn.) will compete in the most events for the Blugolds. She will run the 200 and 400-meter dashes and will also be on the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relay teams. Thursday, Kooistra, Jordanne Greenup (Fr.-Fridley, Minn.), Talisa Emberts (Fr.- Sussex, Wis./Sussex-Hamilton) and Amy Bachinski (Jr.-Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) will compete in the 4x100-meter relay trials, while she will also be participate in the trials for the 200-meter dash and the 4x400-meter relay along with Emberts, Laura Broner (Sr.-Madison, Wis./Memorial) and Hayley Suckow (Jr.-Elk Mound, Wis.). Friday Kooistra will then be in the 400-meter dash trials. Finals for all events will be held Saturday. In other track events, Mary Palmer (Sr.-Anoka, Minn.) will compete in the 10,000-meter run, Maria Peloquin (So.-Prescott, Wis.) in the 800-meter run and Hannah Humbach (Jr.-Madison, Wis./Abundant Life) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. In field events, Brittany Frederick (Fr.-Green Bay, Wis./Preble) will compete in the hammer throw and discus. Amy Morse (Sr.-Kaukauna, Wis.) will also participate in the discus event while Suckow will compete in the pole vault and Chelsea Becker (Sr.-Rice Lake, Wis.) in the triple jump. Hosted by Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio, the three-day championship will begin Thursday (May 21) and will conclude Saturday (May 23). Events will start at noon Thursday. - KM - |
