Sun, May 19, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Golf Leads After Day One Of NCAA Championship Posted: Wednesday, May 13, 2009 The Blugolds totaled 312 strokes on the day, their lowest single-day total ever in their nine NCAA Championship appearances. St. Lawrence University currently sits in second with 318 while nine-time defending national champion Methodist University and DePauw University are tied for third with 321. Tied for fifth are No. 1-ranked UW-Stevens Point, Gustavus Adolphus College and St. Mary's College (Ind.) with 322. On the individual side, the Blugolds' Torie Ives (Jr.-Osseo, Wis./Osseo-Fairchild) and Rhodes College's Stephanie Mingos both shot an even par 72 and are tied for first place out of 111 golfers. Emily Swift (Fr.-Onalaska, Wis.) came in second for Eau Claire today with a four over 76 while Katie Maurer (Forest Lake, Minn./Convent of the Visitation) completed the day with 81. Emily swift is currently tied for sixth place while Maurer is tied for 34th. Tied for 48th place, Lauren Gault (Fr.-Shorewood, Wis.) finished with 83 strokes and Katie Swift (So.-Onalaska, Wis.) completed the 18 holes with a score of 86, tied for 71st. The Blugolds will begin teeing off tomorrow at 11:50 a.m. for round two of the NCAA Championship at the PGA Golf Club. |
