Men's Tennis Wraps Up Regular Season In Iowa

DECORAH, Iowa - The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team completed the regular season today against Luther College, falling short 8-1.
The Blugolds wrapped up the regular season with a 24-10 record while Luther improved to 32-5.
Kevin Fawcett (Jr.-Madison, Wis./Verona) and Eric Wollum (So.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) picked up the Blugolds' only victory of the day, taking the No. 3 doubles match 8-5. The win was the third straight for the duo in the No. 3 spot.
Fawcett and Chris Kuna (Fr.-Edina, Minn.) played the closest singles matches of the day but both ended up falling short. Fawcett lost 6-1, 2-6, 10-8 at No. 5 while Kuna dropped the No. 4 match 7-6 (10-3), 6-4.
The Blugolds will now wait until May 4 to find out if they have been selected to compete in the NCAA Championships, scheduled to begin May 8.
