Sat, May 25, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Golf Takes Third At St. Thomas Invite Posted: Sunday, April 19, 2009 BECKER, Minn. - The UW-Eau Claire women's golf team moved up one spot from yesterday and finished in third place out of 13 teams at the University of St. Thomas Invitational at Pebble Creek Golf Course today. Gustavus, which led after day one, captured the team title with 622 total strokes. UW-Stevens Point remained in second place and finished with 639 strokes. The Blugolds had the third best round of the day and moved from fourth to third place with 663. The University of St. Thomas finished with 668 strokes to take fourth. Gustavus' Katie Schenfeld shot a +6 score of 150 to take home individual medalist honors. Three Blugolds finished tied for 13th or better. Emily Swift (Fr.-Onalaska, Wis.) led the Blugolds with 162 strokes to tie for 10th place while Katie Maurer (Forest Lake, Minn./Convent of the Visitation) was 12th with 164. Torie Ives (Jr.-Osseo, Wis./Osseo-Fairchild) tied for 13th overall with 165 strokes. Lauren Gault (Fr.-Shorewood, Wis.) was the Blugolds' fourth best finisher, tying for 29th place with 173 and Katie Swift (So.-Onalaska, Wis.) totaled 178 strokes to tie for 39th. The Blugolds will wrap up the regular season in two weeks when they host the Blugold Spring Invitational to be contested at Wild Ridge Golf Course May 2 and 3. - KM - |
