Wed, Jun 19, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Sam Johnson And Dan Powers Lead Track And Field In Platteville Posted: Friday, April 10, 2009 Overall the Blugolds had six finishes of third or better, with two first place finishes. Sam Johnson (Sr.-Deer Park, Wis./Amery) and Dan Powers (Jr.-New Richmond, Wis.) led the Blugolds with each taking first place spots. Johnson took first in the hammer throw competition with a distance of 54.78 meters (179-09) while Powers took the triple jump competition with a distance of 13.53 meters (44-04.75). Logan Koerten (So.-Plover, Wis./SPASH) took second place in the long jump competition with a distance of 6.70 meters (21-11.75) while the 4x400-meter ?B" relay team also took second place with a time of 3:21.85 For third place finishes, the Blugolds' Wes Fischer (Jr.-Rosemount, Minn.) finished the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.38 while the Blugolds' 4x400-meter ?A" relay team finished with a time of 3:22.39 Up next the Blugolds will compete in the Kansas Relays next Friday in Lawrence, Kansas. Another part of the team will compete in the Phil Esten Challenge as well in Winona, Minn. |
