Women's Track And Field Compete In Platteville Posted: Friday, April 10, 2009 Overall the Blugolds had seven finishes better than third, with five getting first place. Brittany Frederick (Fr.-Green Bay, Wis./Preble) led the Blugolds in finishes today with two first place finishes in the shot put competition with a distance of 13.06 meters (42-10.25) and the discus throw with a distance of 42.90 meters (140-09). Fellow Blugold Amy Morse (Sr.-Kaukauna, Wis.) tied Frederick with her toss of 42.90 meters (140-09) in the discus. The next first place finish came from Hannah Humbach (Jr.-Madison, Wis./Abundant Life) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:47.46. The 4x400-meter relay team also crossed the finish line the fastest with a time 3:57.98. The Blugolds' Bethany Easker (So.-Wittenberg, Wis./Wittenberg-Birnamwood) took second place in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:37.09 while Julia Baranek (Fr.-Port Washington, Wis.) also took second place in the high jump competition with height of 1.55 meters (5-01). Up next the Blugolds will compete in the Kansas Relays next Friday in Lawrence, Kansas, while another group of Blugolds will be in Winona, Minn. for the Phil Esten Challenge. |
