Thu, Jun 20, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Track And Field Finishes In First Place At The Oshkosh Invitational Posted: Saturday, April 4, 2009 OSHKOSH, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire women's track and field team took first place out of nine teams today at the UW-Oshkosh Outdoor Track & Field Invitational. The Blugold women scored 183.5 to lead the pack of nine while UW-Oshkosh took second with a score of 163. Winona State University took third place with a score of 138 while Northern Michigan University scored 117.5 in its fourth place finish. Carroll took the fifth place spot with a score of 50 and St. Norbert took sixth place with 39 points. Lawrence University got seventh, Michigan Tech took eighth and Ripon finished last. Overall the Blugolds had 16 finishes of third or better, with four getting first place. In the track events, Liz Kooistra (Sr.-Lakeville, Minn.) took first place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:16.28. Liz Amici (So.-Whitewater, Wis.) took first in the 100-meter hurdles event with a time of 15.81 seconds, while Hannah Humbach (Jr.-Madison, Wis./Abundant Life) took first place in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:44.17. In the field events, Julia Baranek (Fr.-Port Washington, Wis.) came out with the only first place finish, taking the top spot in the triple jump with a distance of 11.01 meters (36-01.50). Up next the Blugolds will compete in the Platteville Open next Friday in Platteville. Events are set to begin at 3 p.m. - MT - |
