Mon, May 20, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Golf Takes Second Place At Wartburg Spring Invitational Posted: Saturday, April 4, 2009 WAVERLY, Iowa - The UW-Eau Claire women's golf team took second place out of nine teams with 326 strokes at the Wartburg College Spring Invitational at Centennial Oaks Golf Club today. The Blugolds were just behind winner Gustavus Adolphus, which had 321 strokes. St. Thomas took third place with a total of 329 strokes while host Wartburg finished fourth with 335 strokes. Junior Torie Ives (Osseo, Wis./Osseo-Fairchild) the Blugolds individually with 76 strokes. She took second overall as she lost a playoff with St. Thomas' Laura Heck who also shot 76 today. Katie Maurer (Fr.-Forest Lake, Minn./Convent of the Visitation) followed closely as she tied for third place overall with a stroke count of 78. Lauren Gault (Fr.-Shorewood, Wis.) and Jamie Hauser (Fr.-Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) both tied for 22nd place with a stroke count of 86 each. Freshman Emily Swift (Onalaska, Wis.) took 36th place with a stroke total of 89. The final round of the Wartburg Spring Invitational was originally scheduled for tomorrow but has been cancelled due to the predicted weather conditions in the Waverly area. The Blugolds will be back in action next Friday and Saturday when they compete in the Carleton College Invitational. Day One Results- MT - |
