MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - UW-Eau Claire diver Bryan Dykstra (Sr.-Racine, Wis./Horlick) finished as an All-American as the Blugold swimming and diving teams competed in the second day of the 2009 NCAA Division III Championships at the University of Minnesota today.

Dykstra took home an eighth place finish in the one-meter dive with a score of 413.80. This is the second time in his career he competed in the finals of the one-meter event. In 2005 he earned a sixth place finish while last season he competed in preliminaries but did not advance to the finals.

Ken Ritt (Jr.-Racine, Wis./Horlick) also competed in the one-meter dive today but did not make it to the finals. He finished 10th overall in preliminaries.

Also in action today were Kirsten Lickel (Fr.-Madison, Wis./East) and Angie Bakula (So.-Appleton, Wis./West). Lickel competed in the 400-yard individual medley and finished 25th overall with a time of 4:43.24. In the 200-yard freestyle, Bakula finished in 34th place with a time of 1:54.06, a new school record. Both times were achieved in preliminaries as neither advanced to finals.

The Blugolds will now get the day off tomorrow before wrapping up this year's championships Saturday. Bakula and Lickel will compete in the 1,650-yard freestyle while Dykstra and Ritt will be on the boards for the three-meter dive.
