Fri, May 24, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Tennis Closes Spring Break With Win Posted: Thursday, March 19, 2009 ORLANDO, Fla. - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team completed its spring break trip today with an 8-1 win over Franklin & Marshall College (Pa.) The Blugolds finished the trip with a 4-1 record and improve to 13-6 in dual meets on the season. Franklin & Marshall falls to 0-4. With the Blugolds dropping only the No. 2 singles match on the day, everyone else won in straight sets. No. 1 player Gina Dahl (Jr.-Fort Atkinson, Wis.), Michelle Reinders (So.-Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead), who played at No. 5, and Emily Knudson (Fr.-Delano, Minn.), who was in the No. 6 spot, all won with scores of 6-1 and 6-0. Brenna McCormick (Jr.-Greendale, Wis.) allowed only three points in her No. 3 match, winning 6-2, 6-1 while Courtney Lynne (Jr.-Rochester, Minn./Mayo) recorded a victory at No. 4 6-1, 6-3. In doubles competition, McCormick and Emily Hiebl (Fr.-Wausau, Wis./East) secured an 8-2 victory in the No. 2 spot while the duo of Megan Born (Fr.-Antigo, Wis.) and Jackie Gillespie (Fr.-De Pere, Wis.) picked up a win at No. 3 by the same score. Dahl and Lynne won 8-5 at No. 1. Up next the Blugolds will be back in Eau Claire for two more meets. They will take on St. Catherine (Minn.) at 12:30 p.m. and follow that with a 6:30 p.m. meet against UW-Stout on April 4. Both contests are scheduled to be played at the YMCA Center in Eau Claire.
