Women's Tennis Comes Up Short In Spring Break Opener

ORLANDO, Fla. - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team found only two victories today, falling 7-2 to NCAA Division II opponent Wayne State University (Mich.) on the first day of its spring break trip.
With the loss the Blugolds drop to 9-6 in dual meets this season while Wayne State improves to 12-5.
Brenna McCormick (Jr.-Greendale, Wis.) and Michelle Reinders (So.-Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) recorded the Blugolds' only two victories of the day.
At No. 3 singles, McCormick picked up the win over her opponent 6-3, 2-6, 6-3. Reinders won 6-2, 2-6, 10-4 at No. 5 singles.
The Blugolds will compete in four more meets over the next week in Orlando. Tomorrow Eau Claire will take on LaTourneau University at 11 a.m. and will follow with competition against Carthage College at 3 p.m.
