Sat, May 18, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Track & Field Competes In Stevens Point Posted: Saturday, March 7, 2009 STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire women's track and field team took part in the Pointer Last Chance Qualifier today hosted by UW-Stevens Point. In the 15 events that took place, the Blugolds had seven finishers that ended up in the top three spots. Jamie Arentz [Jr.-Cashton, Wis.) took first place in the 3,000-meter run, finishing with a time of 11:21.80. Hayley Suckow (Jr.-Elk Mound, Wis.) was the other Blugold who finished first, taking the top spot in the pole vault competition with a height of 3.71 meters (12-2). The women's distance medley team took second place with a total time of 12:00.09, missing out the first place time of 11:58.34. The Blugolds' Julia Baranek (Fr.-Port Washington, Wis.) took third place in the high jump with a time of 1.57 meters (5-1 3/4) while Brittany Frederick (Fr.-Green Bay, Wis./Preble) took third place in the shot put competition with a distance of 13.19 meters (43-3 1/4). Liz Amici (So.-Whitewater, Wis.) took third place in the triple jump competition with a distance of 10.92 meters (35-10), missing second place by one centimeter. The 4x400 meter relay team also took third place with a time of 3:56.38. Coming up next for the lady Blugolds will be the NCAA Indoor Championships in Terre Haute, Ind., next Friday and Saturday.
