Wed, May 22, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Sam Johnson Leads The Men's Track And Field Team Today In Stevens Point Posted: Saturday, March 7, 2009 STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire men's track and field team took part in the Pointer Last Chance Qualifier today hosted by UW-Stevens Point. Of the 15 events that took place throughout the day, the Blugolds had five finishers that were in the top three spots. Sam Johnson (Sr.-Deer Park, Wis./Amery) took home another first place victory in the weight throw contest with a distance of 18.72 meters (61-5), beating out the second place throw of 17.43 meters (57-2 1/4) by over four feet. The men's distance medley relay team also took first place with an overall time of 10:04.51. Eau Claire's Ben Pearson (Jr.-Clinton, Wis.) took second place in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:03.27, missing the first place mark of 9:01.03. In the 55-meter dash, Justin Janke (Jr.-Black River Falls, Wis.) crossed the finish line in second place with a time of 6.44 with Frankie Adams (Sr.-Burnsville, Minn.) close behind with a time of 6.46. Coming up next for the Blugolds will be the NCAA Indoor Championships in Terre Haute, Ind., next Friday and Saturday. Events are set to start at noon both days. Track and Field Results- MT - |
