Gymnastics Takes Eighth At WIAC Championships

WINONA, Minn. - With a final team score of 173.45, the UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team finished eighth out of eight teams today at the NCGA Regional/WIAC Championships at McCown Gymnasium on the campus of Winona State University.
UW-La Crosse won the event with a total score of 187.2. UW-Whitewater finished second with 185.1 points, while Winona State rounded out the top three with a team total of 182.925.
Teresa Lynch (Sr.-Vadnais Heights, Minn./White Bear Lake) had the Blugolds' best finish, posting a season-high score of 9.300 in the uneven bars. Lynch finished in sixth place in the event. Stephanie Schaedle (Fr.-Moorpark, Calif./Kennesaw Mountain) also matched her season-high in the bars with a score of 8.450.
Sarah Hulbert (So.-Waukesha, Wis./North) finished in a tie for 13th place in the vault with a score of 9.375. Posting a season-high score of 9.300, Kerri Ritsche (So.-South Range, Wis./Superior) finished the vault tied for 18th place.
The final gymnastics event of the year comes by way of the NCGA Nationals in St. Paul on March 20 and 21.
