Sat, May 25, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Eight First Place Finishes Lead The Women's Track & Field Team In Platteville Posted: Saturday, February 14, 2009 PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The No. 15 UW-Eau Claire women's track and field team had eight first place finishes today as it competed at UW-Platteville's Nike Impact Sports Track and Field Meet. Of the 17 events held during the day, the Blugolds had 10 finishers in the top three, with eight athletes finishing in first place. Liz Kooistra Sr.-Lakeville, Minn.) took the top spot in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.69 while Hannah Humbach (Jr.-Madison, Wis./Abundant Life) crossed the finish line first in the mile run with a time of 5:07.31, beating the second place finisher by over 10 seconds. Alyssa Sybilrud (Fr.-Savage, Minn/Burnsville) finished in first place in the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:48.45, beating the second place finisher who ended up with a time of 10:53.08. In the 5000 meter run, Mary Palmer (Sr.-Anoka, Minn.) took first place with a time of 17:23.03 while Bethany Easker (So.-Wittenberg, Wis./Wittenberg-Birnamwood) followed in second with a time of 18:02.84. Alicia Schuelke (Sr.-Gilman, Wis.) jumped to first place in the high jump with final height of 1.61 meters while Liz Amici (So.-Whitewater, Wis.) took the triple jump competition with a distance of 10.81 meters and Brittany Frederick (Fr.-Green Bay, Wis./Preble) took first place in the shot put with a distance of 13.40 meters. In the pole vault, Haley Suckow (Jr.-Elk Mound, Wis.) vaulted to the top spot with a height of 3.45 meters while Cassie Hunt (Jr.-Chippewa Falls, Wis./McDonell) finished in third place with a height of 3.10 meters. The Blugolds will be competing again next week at UW-Stevens Point. Events are set to start at 10:30 a.m. Results- MT - |
