Fri, May 24, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Wrestling Falls In A Close Matchup Against Oshkosh Posted: Wednesday, February 4, 2009 OSHKOSH, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire wrestling team came away with the 29-12 loss tonight as they battled with Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival UW-Oshkosh tonight at Kolf Sports Center. Eau Claire drops to 5-11 in dual meets and 1-4 in WIAC dual meets. The Titans improve to 7-5 overall and 2-3 in the WIAC. On the night, the Blugolds had three wins on the mats. Andy Miller (Sr.-Appleton, Wis./North) defeated Oshkosh's Jared Jaminski 5-0 in the 133 pound match. Eau Claire's next victory came in the 149-pound match with Andy Johnston (Jr.-St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) defeating Jose Quintana with a 12-1 major decision. Josh Holforty (Sr.-Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy) added the last Blugold win of the night with his 17-1 technical fall over Matt Halpert in the 197-pound match. The Blugolds will go back to the mats against Itasca CC this Friday at 7 p.m. in McPhee. Action is set to begin at 7 p.m. Saturday Eau Claire will host its annual invite. - MT - |
