Tue, May 21, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Men's Basketball Looks To Bounce Back Against Titans Posted: Tuesday, February 3, 2009 EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire men's basketball team is set to face off against WIAC opponent UW-Oshkosh on Wednesday night. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in Zorn Arena. The Blugolds are looking to get back on track after their two game winning streak was snapped with a 79-60 loss to sixth-ranked UW-Whitewater. On the year, Eau Claire is 11-8 overall and 5-6 in conference play. The Blugolds are tied with Oshkosh for fourth place in the WIAC. The Titans are 11-9 on the season and coming off a 80-78 double overtime win against UW-Stout on Saturday. Eau Claire leads the all-time series against Oshkosh with a 70-42 record, but the Titans have had the upper hand as of late, taking four of the last five contests from the Blugolds. Earlier this season, Oshkosh beat Eau Claire in an overtime thriller, 91-84. Ryan Shea (So.-Duluth, Minn./East) leads the Blugolds' offense, averaging 14.1 points per game. Shea also leads the team with 30 steals, and shoots 75.5 percent from the free throw line. Leading the team in rebounding is Dan Beyer (Sr.-Waukesha, Wis./Catholic Memorial). Beyer grabs 6.4 boards per game and is second on the team in scoring with 13.6 points per contest. Geoff Probst (Jr.-Moose Lake, Minn.) has been solid for Eau Claire this year, averaging 9.9 points and 5.6 rebounds, while shooting 86.4 percent from the charity stripe. Three Titans average double-digits this season. D.J. Marsh leads the team with 17.3 points per game, while Dane Seckar-Anderson and Matt Miller are close behind with 17.1 points and 17 points, respectively. Marsh also leads the team in rebounding with 8.7 boards per game. - CL - |
