Men's Track & Field Competes In Warren Bowlus Open

MENOMONIE, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire men's track and field team competed 14 different events in the Warren Bowlus Open today hosted by UW-Stout.
Rob Wilcox (Sr.-Green Bay, Wis./Southwest) finished in first place in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:24.54 while Jake Zander (So.-Chippewa Falls, Wis./McDonell) followed in third place with 1:25.82.
In the 1,000-meter run, Eau Claire's Tony Carr (Sr.-Menomonie, Wis.) took second place with a final time of 2:32.44.
Sam Johnson (Sr.-Deer Park, Wis./Amery) took second place in the weight throw with a final distance of 18.33 meters, just two meters behind the first place finisher. He also finished sixth in the shot put with a toss of 14.22 meters.
The Blugold men return to action next Saturday, competing in the Eastbay Invite, hosted by UW-Stevens Point. The meet is set to begin at 10:30 a.m.
