Tue, May 21, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Track & Field Compete In Menomonie Posted: Saturday, January 31, 2009 MENOMONIE, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire women's track and field team competed in the Warren Bowlus Open today hosted by UW-Stout. With individuals competing in 15 different events, the Blugolds took first place in three events. Talisa Emberts (Fr.-Sussex, Wis./Sussex-Hamilton) took the top spot in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.66, with Bridget Sarafin (Fr.-Stanley, Wis./Stanley-Boyd) coming in third in 1:02.58. Liz Kooistra (Sr.-Lakeville, Minn.) finished first in the 600-meter dash with a time of 1:35.35, beating the second place finisher by seven seconds. Hayley Suckow (Jr.-Elk Mound, Wis.) took first in the pole vault event with a height of 3.76 meters with Chelsea Becker (Sr.-Rice Lake, Wis.) coming in third with a height of 3.19 meters. Julia Baranek (Fr.-Port Washington, Wis.) and Alicia Schuelke (Sr.-Gilman, Wis.) tied for second in the high jump with heights of 1.56 meters. Liz Amici (So.-Whitewater, Wis.) finished the 55-meter hurdles in second place after finishing with 8.94. Amici also finished third in the triple jump with a final distance of 10.53 meters. Amy Morse (Sr.-Kaukauna, Wis.) finished just behind the first place finisher in the weight throw with a final distance of 15.25 meters. The Blugold women return to action next Saturday, competing in the Eastbay Invite, hosted by UW-Stevens Point. The meet is set to begin at 10:30 a.m. - MT - |
