Sun, May 19, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Men's Track & Field Takes Second At UWsp Triangular Posted: Saturday, January 24, 2009 STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire men's track and field team finished second with 94 points this afternoon at the UWSP Triangular. Host school UW-Stevens Point won the event with 138 points, while UW-Platteville finished the meet with 79 points. The Blugolds had four first-place finishes out of 15 total events. In the 400 meter dash, Justin White (Jr.-Arcadia, Wis.) took the top spot with a time of 50.54 seconds, while Chris Kupfer (Sr.-Germantown, Wis.) took second, finishing in 51.31 seconds. Brent Kann (Jr.-Rice Lake, Wis.) finished first in the 3000 yard run in 8:36.12, with Chris Wirtz (Jr.-Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) taking second in the event. In the 4x400 meter relay, the Eau Claire 'A' team won the event in a time of 3:24.07, and in the weight throw Sam Johnson (Sr.-Deer Park, Wis./Amery) won with a final distance of 18.34 meters. Next up for the men is the Warren Bowles Open, hosted by UW-Stout on Saturday. The meet is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. - CL - |
