Tue, May 21, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Track & Field Wins UWsp Triangular Posted: Saturday, January 24, 2009 STEVENS POINT, Wis. - With 125 points scored, the UW-Eau Claire women's track and field team beat out UW-Platteville and UW-Stevens Point at the UWSP Triangular this afternoon. Platteville took second in the meet with 108 points, while Stevens Point finished with 75 points. Out of 15 events, the Blugolds grabbed a first-place finish in six events. Senior Mary Palmer (Sr.-Anoka, Minn.) finished first in the 3000 yard run, with a time of 10:06.52, while Bethany Easker (So.-Wittenberg, Wis./Wittenberg-Birnamwood) took second, finishing in 10:27.17. With a final jump of 1.52 meters, Julia Baranek (Fr.-Port Washington, Wis.) edged out teammate Alicia Schuelke (Sr.-Gilman, Wis.) to win the high jump. Baranek also took first in the triple jump with a final distance of 10.16 meters. Haley Suckow (Jr.-Elk Mound, Wis.) was the top finisher in the pole vault, with a final height of 3.5 meters, and Chelsea Heil (Fr.-Whitewater, Wis.) took first in the long jump with a distance of 4.97 meters. In the weight throw, Amy Morse (Sr.-Kaukauna, Wis.) led a trio of Blugolds with a distance of 14.46 meters. The Blugold women return to action on Saturday, competing in the Warren Bowles Open, hosted by UW-Stout. The meet is set to begin at 12 p.m. - CL - |
